Birth Story Circle- "Being With Your Birth"
This class is open to all parents who have experienced birth.

If you have been unable to resolve negative feelings or have experienced birth shock or trauma after a difficult birth, you will discover the hidden jewel in that birth story and take away a whole new way of looking at yourself and birth.

Birthing mothers, fathers, and everyone who witnesses a birth can be uplifted by the mystery and power of birth, and at the same time, be haunted by feelings of confusion, powerlessness, shame, blame, or regret about a particular moment they feel they failed or were failed. These feelings can dominate our thoughts and at other times be a smaller nagging memory. The intensity of these feelings is different for everyone and each birthing experience.

After a birth, parents and witnesses may initially feel grateful and accept what happened. However, weeks, months or even years later, you may find that doubts and negative feelings erupt. Parents may try to talk about it, to sort it out, but often can't find a sympathetic ear. Or you may find someone to commiserate with, but shared anger and helplessness don't heal the emotional trauma.

Left unresolved, negative feelings and beliefs undermine the joy and confidence of parenting, and can negatively affect relationships with partner, baby, friends and work.

If your past birth experience is interfering with your peace of mind or positive anticipation of an upcoming birth, then don't wait. Change the way you feel about your birth in a Birth Story Circle.

If you are a birth-related professional (midwife, doula, childbirth educator) or therapist and are aware that your own unresolved birth trauma (either from giving birth or witnessing a difficult birth) is interfering with your ability to be present, trusting or relaxed in your work, this will be a life-changing workshop, both personally and professionally.

In this workshop you will:

~Learn that birth trauma does not always begin with birth
~Recognize predisposing factors and the sources of birth trauma
~Begin to heal your own birth trauma or grief

This one-day workshop is $60 and held from 6:30-9pm
